Utah Passes New Bill Allowing Children To Be Unattended
Utah has passed a new bill this month. The new bill allows parents to legally leave their children in the car, at the park , and even being able to walk to school unattended. This is being called “Free-range Parenting. This now disqualify these things as neglect for the ages of 9 years or older. Senator Lincoln Fillmore says that, “…we have become so over-the-top when protecting children that we are refusing to let them learn the lessons of self reliances and problem-solving that they will need to be successful adults.” Some are also saying that with less parental supervision this will allow children to learn how to become independent.
