LEFT EYE FAMILY UPSET ABOUT REMAKE OF "WATERFALLS"

(AllHipHop News) TLC’s 1995 single “Waterfalls” was one of the biggest hits of the girl group’s career. The song spent seven weeks at number 1 on the Billboard chart and catapulted the Atlanta trio into superstars around the world.
In commemoration of the group’s 20 year anniversary, TLC’s signature song was re-released, except this version leaves out the rap by the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. It’s replaced with vocals by Japanese performer Namie Amuro, and according toTMZ, Left Eye’s family is not happy about the change.
“I did not know about it until a fan posted it online. I mean it would have been nice if they would have given us a heads up before being surprised,” said Left Eye’s sister Reigndrop Lopes. Reigndrop also says her mother was “hurt” and wanted to see her daughter’s memory honored by keeping Lisa on the track.
Lisa Lopes was killed on April 25, 2002 from a car crash in Honduras. Her verse on “Waterfalls” is often credited as one of the highlights of her career.
